Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 medium-sized oranges

  • Ice cubes (optional)

  • Sugar or honey (optional, for added sweetness)

  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Directions

  • Select the Oranges: Choose ripe and juicy oranges. Valencia and Navel oranges are excellent choices for juice.
  • Prepare the Oranges: Rinse the oranges under cold water to remove any dirt or residue. Pat them dry with a clean towel.
  • Juicing the Oranges:
    Manual Juicing: Cut the oranges in half. Use a manual citrus juicer or a handheld reamer to extract the juice. Twist the reamer or press the juicer firmly to get the maximum juice out of each half.
    Electric Juicer: If you have an electric juicer, cut the oranges into quarters and feed them into the juicer as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Straining the Juice (Optional): If you prefer a pulp-free juice, you can strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the pulp.
  • Sweetening the Juice: Taste the juice. If it’s not sweet enough for your liking, you can add a little sugar or honey. Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  • Chilling the Juice: If you like your juice cold, add a few ice cubes to the glass. Alternatively, you can chill the juice in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving.
